Employee Benefits
Benefits are available for new full-time and part-time employees
at the beginning of the month following a 30-day waiting period
and completion of general employee orientation.
Medical Insurance
South Coast Medical Center; Employee Health Plan (EHP); EPO
Dental Insurance: HMO SafeGuard
Select a dentist from the provider list for you and your family.
After 12 months, you have the choice of switching to a PPO Dental
Plan.
Vision Insurance: PPO SafeGuard
This plan allows for one eye exam per 12 months and one new pair
of glasses each 12 months. For information about contact lenses,
see the benefit plan.
Prescription Drugs: RXedo
Prescription drugs can be received by mail at the rate of three
(3) months for price of two (2) months. Reduced cost for generic
brands is also available.
Life Insurance
$10,000 benefit for covered employee
AD&D
$10,000 benefit for covered employee
Paid Leave
Paid leave benefit accrues each pay period up to a maximum of 80
paid hours. Unused paid leave hours are carried over to a maximum
of 300 hours.
Eligibility and accrual begins on the seventh pay period from
the start date of work.
Long Term Disability Leave (LTD)
Long Term Disability accrues a maximum benefit of 56 hours or 7
days annually to a maximum accrual of 1100 hours or 137.5 days.
An eligible employee may access the LTD benefit upon the first
day for inpatient hospitalization or after approved absences of
40 consecutive hours or 5 days. For 12-hour shift employees, the
benefit applies after approved absences of 36 consecutive hours.
A physician certificate is required.

Retirement Plans
South Coast Medical Center provides a 401K Plan through Adventist
HealthCare Retirement Plan (AHRP). To be eligible, employees
must work at least 1,000 hours in a calendar year.
There is a basic hospital contribution of 3-5 percent, as well
as a matching contribution of 50 percent on 4 percent employee contribution.
(Per Diem and On Call employees are not eligible for matching contribution.)
Payroll
At South Coast Medical Center, payday is every other Friday morning.
Direct deposit is also available and can be arranged through the
Human Resources office. The pay period covers a two-week period
starting at Midnight on Saturday and continuing for 14 consecutive
days.
