Sanford Edward Elected to South Coast Medical Center Board
Sanford
Edward of San Juan Capistrano/Dana Point has been elected to the
SCMC Foundation’s Board of Trustees. A prominent land developer,
Mr. Edward brings an impressive background in real estate finance,
entitlement and landscape planning to SCMC’s Foundation.
As president of Master Plan Developments, Inc., Mr. Edward developed
over 6,000 residential lots in cities including Thousand Oaks,
Temecula, Corona, Walnut and Murrieta. In addition, he has been
involved in over $320 million of public bond financing. His signature
project is in Dana Point –The Strand at Headlands, a 121-acre,
beachfront project, including 118 custom homesites, 90 room hotel & spa;
35,000 sq. ft. commercial center, and 68 acres of public parks
and open space.
“In addition to bringing a wealth of finance experience
to our board, Sanford will be invaluable in helping us to reach
out to a wide variety of potential supporters throughout the County,” said
Elizabeth Schneider, Executive Director of the SCMC Foundation. “We
are fortunate to have him on our team.”
Mr. Edward earned a B.A. degree from Montana State University,
where he studied architecture and fine art -- and minored in art
history. He received his masters degree from the Harvard Graduate
School of Design, where he studied real estate finance and landscape
planning. In addition to South Coast Medical Center’s Foundation,
Mr. Edward is also affiliated with the Harvard Alumni Association
and the Friends of the Dana Point Library.
A Los Angeles native, Mr. Edward lives in San Juan Capistrano
with his wife, Jessica, and their three children. He is building
a home at The Strand at Headlands.
