South Coast Medical Center Adopts Seven Families for the Holidays

Christmas Gifts for Adopted FamiliesThe hospital participated in an “Adopt-A-Family” program sponsored by the Laguna Relief & Resource Center.  Led by Andrea Kofl, the Chief Operating Officer, the hospital adopted seven families throughout SCMC’s service area. The Laguna Beach Resource Center provided names of four families that were in need of help but because of the enthusiasm from SCMC employees, the hospital was able to adopt a total of seven families.

“We are pleased to be able to add so much joy to these families in need,” said Andrea Kofl, VP of SCMC’s Nursing unit. “Community outreach is important and we will continue to strive to help as many people as possible.”

Of the seven families, 19 children benefited from SCMC’s contribution. The children range in age from 6 months to 17 years and their gifts will be sure to brighten their holidays. The families received their gifts on Friday, December 21st, just in time for Christmas.

South Coast Medical Center has a long history of supporting people in need. The hospital organizes Laguna Beach’s Meals-on-Wheels program and provides student scholarships and blood drives. The Adopt-A-Family program is just another way the hospital gives back to the communities it serves.

Founded in 1959, South Coast Medical Center is a 208-bed facility located in Laguna Beach that serve the cities of Laguna Beach, Laguna Niguel, Dana Point, San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano and Aliso Viejo.
