Join the Women's Advisory Counci

The South Coast Medical Center Foundation invites local women in South Orange County to join the Women’s Advisory Council (WAC). Established in 1987, the Council provides a sounding board for SCMC physicians to help them better understand the needs of the women-related services offered by the hospital.  In addition, these local women dedicate their efforts to sponsoring community fundraising events such as the annual Fashion Show.  The 2008 fashion show & luncheon is just around the corner and all Women’s Advisory Council members attend at no cost.

“The members of the Women’s Advisory Council have been an important part of the SCMC Foundation,” said Kate Mullins Buda, Assistant Executive Director, SCMC Foundation. “We are looking to add even more dynamic women to our Council, so that we may continue our efforts to help fund new programs and purchase new equipment for the hospital.”

New WAC members will have the opportunity to join the Council during the 13th annual fashion show & luncheon, which will be held at the Laguna Cliffs Marriott on Friday, April 25th. The show will feature fashions from Monarch Silks and Fuller’s for Men. Some of SCMC’s physicians, including Dr. Red Alinsod, Dr. Michael Coccia, Dr. Jake Cornett, Dr. Glenn Goldberg, Dr. Kenneth James, Dr. Gabor Kovacs, Dr. Elizabeth Lyster, Dr. Arian Mowlavi, Dr. Robert Pettis, Dr. Brian Quebbemann and Dr. Christopher Vanley, will model the clothing.

For an annual membership fee of $250, Women’s Advisory Council members receive committee participation and one ticket to the fashion show & luncheon; committee participation for the annual gala; participation in one 2-hour focus group session per year; one ticket to the annual “Women’s Health Update” luncheon; attendance to the annual “State of the Hospital” breakfast with the SCMC President & CEO and the Foundation’s Executive Director; and the opportunity to network with other South Orange County women business and community leaders.
