Sponsorships and Advertising Opportunities
Available for Hospital Golf Tournament
On Monday, June 2nd, South Coast Medical Center will host its
2008 golf tournament, “Take a Swing at Cancer”. Individuals
will play for $250 and teams will play for $1,000. Advertising
space is still available for this event, as is a $5,000 sponsorship.
This Gold Sponsorship will include one foursome; lunch and a post-tournament
Mexican buffet for four; name listed as a major sponsor on the
inside front of the invitation; name listed on the inside front
cover of the program; 3/4 page ad in the program; verbal recognition
at the post-tournament reception; and Greg Norman golf shirts for
all players. Proceeds from the golf tournament will assist South
Coast Medical Center in its fight against cancer.
The hospital has its eye on a brand new radiation “zapper”(linear
accelerator) to use for cancer treatment. A new linear accelerator
will allow for more precise dosage distribution for each cancer
patient. The golf tournament is the first big fundraising
effort to raise the needed capital to purchase this equipment.
“Our Radiation Oncology Department needs to upgrade its
linear accelerator for radiation treatment, to greatly increase
the ability to treat our cancer patients,” said Elizabeth
Pearson-Schneider, Executive Director of the SCMC Foundation. Adds
Kate Mullins Buda, Assistant Executive Director, “We hope
to fill the $5,000 sponsorship to help make this golf tournament
the most successful one to date.”
Held at the El Niguel Country Club in Laguna Niguel, the golf
tournament will feature an opportunity drawing and live & silent
auctions for items that include a week-long trip to Cabo San Lucas,
a set of golf clubs and two tickets to the U.S. Open at Torrey
Pines. Participants will also be treated to a barbecue lunch and
a Fiesta. For a fee of $50 per person, non-golfers will also be
allowed to attend the Fiesta and participate in the silent auction.
