Cardiac Rehabilitation

A Cardiac Rehabilitation Nurse assists the patient in his/her return to a productive lifestyle following a cardiac event.

After receiving a referral for outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation for Phase II (Monitored Cardiac Rehabilitation), the Cardiac Nurse (RN) will perform a comprehensive initial evaluation and initiate an individualized EKG-monitored exercise program. The cardiac program includes aerobic strengthening exercises, stretching, and light-weight strengthening exercises according to a cardiac protocol.

Following the completion of Phase II, patients may chose to participate in our Phase III program (Non-Monitored). The participants follow an established exercise program that includes aerobic strengthening exercises, stretching and light-weight strengthening exercises.

Patient education featuring diet, exercise and the latest information regarding medications, medication interactions as well as new trends in cardiac care play a key role in our program.
