Skilled Nursing for Longterm Care

South Coast Medical Center offers a licensed skilled nursing sub-acute long term care unit. Our unit is exclusively for those who are ventilator-dependent or have tracheostomy and tube feeding requirements needed on a long-term basis. The patient must be medically stable and no longer require acute care medical services.

The Treatment Staff

The Sub Acute Care Unit staff members are qualified, caring health care professionals. Registered nurses, licensed vocational nurses and certified nursing assistants care for the patient's medical needs. An activity therapist plans daily social-therapeutic programs. Social workers, physical, speech, respiratory and occupational therapists, pharmacists and registered dietitians play vital roles in the patient's recovery. Chaplain services are offered for patients and their families.
